General Description of Responsibilites
Perform head cook responsibilities at Gladstone Center for Children and Families or as designated. Serve students nutritious meals, provide a cheerful cafeteria environment for students and adults, strive to increase participation and manage the building level school lunch program in a cost effective manner. Assist District in coordinating a district-wide food service program according to policies and procedures, and federal/state requirements. Develop and maintain high standards of food preparation and service with emphasis on menu appeal and nutritional value. Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety. Maintain a variety of records including those required for audit and review. Facilitate cooperation with education partners, administrators, teachers, parents and students. It is a common goal of the district to operate the overall food service program at a break-even point.

The Nutrition Services Field Supervisor helps ensure the safety and quality of school meals by overseeing food service operations at multiple school sites and ensuring their compliance with food safety regulations and USDA child nutrition guidelines.
The Nutrition Services Director plans, organizes, coordinates and directs the nutrition program for all District schools and ensures safe, clean and efficient operations. This position requires independent judgment and analysis; ensures proper regulation of workflow, frequently involving heavy volume and emergent situations; provides leadership, supervision, evaluation, training and direction for assigned staff; and high level organization.
The average daily breakfast count is 2,000; the average daily lunch count is 3,200; and the average daily afternoon meals/snacks count is 250. Four school sites participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable program. The average daily participation in Summer Meals is 300.
