Keynote and Featured Speakers
Lou Radja, Keynote Speaker
A true social entrepreneur, Lou Radja continues to work tirelessly to help individuals and teams thrive at the intersection of success and significance. A recognized and award winning Motivational Speaker and founder of Lou Radja Enterprises, Mr. Radja’s trainings on leadership, personal growth, diversity and service inspire and equip audiences around the world, to Be More and Give More. As Founder and Executive Director of EduCongo, a U.S.-based nonprofit organization; Lou’s energy is also devoted to generating awareness and support to provide quality education for over 2,000 underprivileged children in the Congo.
Lou will present his keynote address, “United by Differences,” on Sat., March 14 during the morning General Session to kick off our meeting!
Lynne Shore, SNA Northwest Regional Director and School Nutrition Director, Willamina School District
Lynne serves on the School Nutrition Association National Board of directors representing the members of SNA in the Northwest U.S. Lynne has also held a seat on the SNA Nutrition & Research Committee and has presented at several national conferences. Lynne has served the state of Oregon’s Nutrition Association as Past President (2014-15); President (2013-14); Board Legislative Chair (2013-18) and Industry Committee Co-Chair (2009-18). She has also been a member of the Oregon USDA Foods Distribution Program Advisory Council and OCNC Purchasing Co-op Board. Her schools have been recipients of the Oregon School Wellness Award, HealthierUS Schools Award and SNA District of Excellence. Lynne has been honored as a School Nutrition Foundation School Nutrition Hero Award winner in 2018.
Lynne will give a General Session talk to 2020 OSNA Conference attendees on Sat., March 14.
Heidi is a member the Child Nutrition Team at Oregon Department of Education. In August, she stepped out of the Manager, School Nutrition Programs position to lead the implementation of the school nutrition provisions in the Student Success Act. Heidi has deep experience in the School Nutrition Programs, yet still encounters new things to learn every day.
Heidi will present a special talk, “Student Success Act (SSA),” on Sat., March 14 during the morning General Session.
Pre-registration is required for tours and classes scheduled for Friday, March 13.
Members need to contact Becki Wicks via email to get on the list for the two ICN classes, the Ag Tour, and the ServSafe class. Members will need to register directly online for SNA’s SNS exam.

3rd Annual Oregon Agriculture Tour | Free | Register via registration form
Join us for another fun day to learn more about Oregon agriculture, Farm to School and ways to share the information with your team and students about the foods served in your cafeteria(s). We’ll be visiting a dairy and the Piazza Pizza Bakery and production facility. Plus, it’s a great time to network, catch up and learn from colleagues! Limited to the first 30 registrants. Lunch will be provided.

- Wear close-toed shoes, shoes may get wet/dirty

- Tie back long hair (hair nets and hard hats will be worn on part of tour)

Review and practice of basic math skills with. Application for culinary settings focuses on measuring and converting measurements, scaling recipes, and calculating food costs.
This session helps school nutrition program cashiers understand the requirements for a reimbursable lunch and breakfast. This training contains short, skill-building activities that reinforce key messages to help recognize a reimbursable meal at the point-of-service using the Offer Versus Serve (OVS) option.
ServSafe Class & Exam | $140 | Registration deadline: 2/1/2020
ServSafe manager training provides in-depth training, blending the latest FDA Food Code, food safety research and years of food sanitation training experience. Managers learn to implement essential food safety practices and create a culture of food safety. Certification is valid statewide for 5 years and satisfies the food handler requirement.

SNA established the School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) Credentialing Program in 1997 to enhance the professional image of school nutrition professionals, elevate professional standards and enhance individual performance.
The SNS Credential is a mark of excellence and achievement that reflects what it takes to manage school nutrition programs in today’s challenging climate. The SNS Credentialing Exam evaluates candidates’ knowledge and skills required to perform specific job activities related to managing or directing school nutrition programs.
Registration for the SNS Exam is through the School Nutrition Association.

2020 OSNA Food & Equipment Show
Suppliers to Oregon’s school food service market are invited to exhibit at OSNA’s Food & Equipment Show on Saturday, March 14 at the Salem Convention Center in Salem, Oregon.
Booth space reservation is now open and vendor registration forms and payment are due by February 14, 2020.
Sponsorship opportunities also are available! We welcome food product donations for the Friday Fun Night reception, Saturday Conference reception and scheduled conference snack breaks, as well as sponsorship of lanyards, conference tote bags (reusable grocery-style) and raffle prizes. Vendors may also opt to sponsor a conference speaker.

The Oregon Farm to School Showcase highlights producers, processors and distributors that offer Oregon grown and processed products to school districts. Showcase booths will be grouped together in the atrium and will be highlighted as Farm to School Vendors. Shared booths are available by request.
Vendors who select interest in the Farm to School Showcase on the Vendor Registration form will receive a follow-up e-mail to confirm they meet the qualifications above before being accepted to the showcase.
Scholarship/funding assistance is available to Oregon companies participating in the Showcase. Please contact Amy Gilroy (email@example.com) or Anne Leavens (firstname.lastname@example.org) for details and how to apply for assistance.
