This position is responsible for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) requirements for the Free and Reduced-price meal Program, assuring compliance with current laws and ordinances related to Child Nutrition Programs. Reedsport School District has a job opening for the position of Food Service Director. The Food Service Director performs a wide variety of duties relating to the operation of the Food Service Program. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing, and accounting for the operation of the program. The Director is responsible for purchasing food supplies, preparing monthly menus, maintaining nutrition standards and portion control, supervising department personnel and dealing directly with vendors for purchasing food and supplies. Must be knowledgeable of menu planning, child nutrition program requirements, food production, work scheduling, safety, sanitation, and cost analysis.
