The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is hiring for a permanent, full-time Child Nutrition Specialist with National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP). This position is located in Salem, Oregon.
Job duties include providing timely leadership, monitoring, technical assistance, and support to institutions, programs and individuals in the administration, planning, development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and improvement of nutrition services and nutrition education programs. Oregon Trail School District has announced an opening for a Food Service Site Leader at Naas Elementary School. The job entails performing routine kitchen duties, food preparation, clean up and related work in preparing and distributing food for consumption by students and school personnel. Qualified applicants will have one year of progressively responsible experience in food preparation, cooking and baking for a school lunch or similar program, including menu planning, food orders, inventory control and work coordination. As part of our efforts to promote and increase student participation in the School Breakfast Program in Oregon, Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon, Oregon Dairy Council, and Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs are excited to announce the 2015 November School Challenge!
Schools are encouraged to enroll to celebrate school breakfast, boost student participation, and win cool prizes!
Through the School Breakfast Challenge, participating schools will gear up to increase student participation in the School Breakfast Program for the month of November. Schools will receive resources and support from Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon, Oregon Dairy Council, and Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs. First and second place and spirit award winners will be celebrated grandly and receive prize packages for their schools.
The first 20 schools to register will receive a Challenge Toolkit complete with marketing and promotional materials, templates, and other resources for student, parent, and staff engagement. Register your school here!
Registration open: Tuesday, September 15th – Thursday, October 15th.
Challenge dates: Monday, November 2nd – Friday, December 4th.
