Bethel School District Nutrition Services is seeking a temporary grant-funded Farm to School/Nutrition Education Coordinator. Bethel School District is developing a 2-3 acre production farm with a goal of growing fresh produce to serve in school meals. This position will work closely with the farm manager, Nutrition Services staff, Kalapuya High School staff and students to provide implementation support for district-wide Farm to School and Nutrition Education programming.
This is a 1-year grant funded position, and continuation is dependent on grant funding and budget status. The start date is August 1, 2016, and the position will be open until filled.

Oakridge School District has a job opening for a Head Cook at Oakridge Junior Senior High School. This position manages, participates in the operation of a school kitchen, and prepares meals at the elementary or secondary school. The Head Cook supervises the other food services employees assigned to the building program and plans the menus to meet state requirements for the building program. The Head Cook is also responsible for keeping records on meals served, food orders, inventory and cash receipts.

- In coordination with Business Services, plan and administer Food Services Department budget to include adequate accounting records and cost control analysis systems.
- Plan, organize, direct, hire, train, review, and evaluate food services staff at 10 schools and in the food services office.
- Work with principals and teaching staff to develop a food services program as a practical application of sound nutrition, as a means for improving the health and nutrition of students, and as a part of the learning experience.
- Develop menus consistent with current adult and child nutrition practices and USDA requirements for the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.
